Provincial meeting included the supply question

The 11 March 2024 advocacy meeting linked diagnosis, treatment, and what provinces fund — including which clotting products reach hospital shelves.

Supply on the same agenda as diagnosis

Provincial representatives heard that a camp without factor assay capacity sends families home with awareness but no name for their bleeding. Similarly, a diagnosis without safe product on shelf sends families searching informally — a dangerous path.

Clinicians explained virus inactivation, cold chain storage during power cuts, and why batch records protect patients if infection questions arise later.

Travel and cost stories

Families described overnight buses to Kathmandu, wages lost when a joint bleed keeps a parent from work, and children who stopped sport not because haemophilia forbade it but because nobody gave a school plan.

Those stories are now part of NHS’s provincial file, used with consent in letters to ministries.

The Society’s continuing ask

Budget lines for assays, virus-inactivated products where possible, physiotherapy, and clinic days that continue monthly — not only on 17 April.

Screened blood donation policy at national level supports every province’s surgery and trauma care, not only haemophilia.

Add your district

This page is general information from Nepal Hemophilia Society. It is not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. A bleed, a head injury, or bleeding after an accident needs urgent hospital care. Ask your treatment centre before you change any treatment.
