Support if you are worried

Testing and who to call in Nepal if you fear infection from a past blood product — practical steps, not panic.

First steps

Gather discharge papers listing product names and dates if possible. Visit your treatment centre or a hospital laboratory that tests for HIV and hepatitis B and C.

What NHS can do

Explain general pathways, advocate for clearer national testing policy, and connect you to peer support — not interpret individual results by email.

What to avoid

Informal retesting kits without counselling. Buying factor from unverified sellers. Public posts with batch numbers.

Emergency distinction

Active bleeding or head injury still goes to emergency first. Infection worries are serious but rarely the same-hour emergency unless acute illness is present.

This page is general information from Nepal Hemophilia Society. It is not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. A bleed, a head injury, or bleeding after an accident needs urgent hospital care. Ask your treatment centre before you change any treatment.
